Records are for playing, which is why we believe in accurately describing the soundnot the look of the record, so we play-test every single record we sell. You might find our gradings are lower than our competitors - that's because if a record looks fantastic but plays terribly we will grade it low on the scale, whereas others may grade it very highly because visually they look good.

For that reason, when we grade records equivalently they actually sound the same, so you know exactly what to expect. We're so confident of our grading process that we offer free returns for any reason

We grade according to the Record Collectors Grading Guide, the details of which are below:

Mint:  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality.
The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Sometimes the record is of different quality on the 'A' and 'B' side. In this case the record grading A: Ex B:VG means the A side is Ex and B side is VG.

The days of flimsy mailers and cracked records are over.

We know how important it is for your records to reach you in one piece, in exactly the same condition as when they left us. That's why we've chosen these brand new mailers, supplied by our friends over at Lil Packaging - they are simply the best out there and provide unrivalled strength and protection.

Their easy-open tear strips make unwrapping simple, so there's no need to risk damaging your record as you fight your way into the envelope. On top of that, records fit snugly, minimising the danger of scuffed corners, and the unparalleled strength ensures that the days of opening up a record cracked in the post are over.

The best bit? They're guaranteed to be 100% recyclable and forest friendly.

Good for the environment. Great for you.

We take our packaging decisions seriously, which is why each element is broken down into meticulous detail here

Domestic Delivery (United Kingdom)

Standard delivery within the UK is absolutely free and will stay that way forever.

We send all standard parcels first class which gives a delivery target of 1 working day. Order before the cut-off and you could have your record safely in your hands the very next day, all at no extra cost.

There is also the option on all items to upgrade to a 'Signed For' service for extra peace of mind or 'Special Delivery' if you need it to arrive on the next working day.

International Delivery

We offer two international services, both of which are with Royal Mail.

Standard delivery has a delivery estimate of 3-5 working days after dispatch. Tracked & Signed delivery has the same delivery estimate of 3-5 working days but is tracked both in the UK and in the destination country and the progress of your package can be followed online.

One of the fundamental goals of Atlas Records is to ensure that none of our customers are ever stuck with a record they don't want. We've all been there - the record isn't quite as described, the sleeve has got a small imperfection you didn't notice or you simply changed your mind. The problem? Returning it costs more than the record itself and frankly is more hassle than it's worth.

Not with us.

In the UK?

Decide your record isn't what you wanted? No problem!

Drop us an email at or use our Contact Us page and we will send you a return label to return the item to us. All you'll have to do is print the label out , stick it on the front and drop it into a post office. The only criteria is that the record must be returned to us in the same condition it was sent out and be within 30 days.

Not in the UK?

Unfortunately we can't offer free returns on any item that is sent abroad. However, we do operate a 30 day "no-quibble" returns policy in which you will be refunded the amount of the record itself (excluding postage charges) if you do choose to return the record to us.
